SUCCEED WITH STYLE is one of several companies founded by Pat Redic and Bob Noe. Their holding company, Millennium Star Enterprise, is home to Millennium Benefits Group, an insurance and financial services company.  Their real estate investment company, Star Properties, buys and sells real estate, both homes and land, primarily in the hot, Sonoran desert, near Phoenix. And Millennium Star Publishing helps business professionals market themselves through authorship.

NO SECOND CHANCES – LOTS OF PRACTICE - Pat, Bob, and the entire Millennium Benefits Group staff have spent years selling the non-tangible benefit of life insurance to employees of companies on a voluntary payroll deducted basis.  For those not familiar with this type of business, it is called “worksite marketing”, and involves 2 distinct sales processes.  The first is to the employer, who must decide and agree to make payroll-deducted benefits available to the employees on a voluntary basis during company hours - a challenge in itself.  The second sale is to the entire employee group, delivered on an individual basis. 

 

Pat says, "Throughout any given year, we personally speak thousands of mini-sales presentations to just about every kind of person you can imagine.  Each employee is allowed only a brief 5-7 minutes to visit with us one-on-one.  In those few moments, we must become instantly appealing and make a compelling enough presentation so that 40% to 90% of the employee population decides to sign up for one or more benefits. There’s no second chance here. There is no time to develop a relationship. They walk in … They walk out … We must instantly “speak their language”.  That’s a lot of practice!"

 

WHY "SELLING" DOESN’T WORK - Bob and Pat realized early in their worksite-marketing career that they had the innate ability to instantly read and recognize the four possibilities of personality styles of each employee who walked into their benefit enrollment room.  Being that they have two styles that are distinctly different from each other, Bob and Pat understand that some employees appreciate and gravitate towards Pat's  “get to the heart of the matter” style, and some prefer Bob’s “haven’t we been friends forever” conversational approach.  

 

In this way, they appeal to a wider audience of employees.  More appeal means more sales.  They learned to identify, based on a few seconds of body language and initial verbal repartee, how each employee prefers to interact. Bob and Pat adapt to the employees and their preferred style. This increases their chances of selling from 1 in 4 to a potential 4 in 4. (Hint: most people do this backwards and the prospect walks out without buying.)
